Sunday 7th October – SNL
North Ayrshire Wild V Murrayfield Racers at Murryfield Ice Rink, Edinburgh.
Wild are a high and traveled to Murrayfield to play the Racers. This was always going to be a tight game and with a few penalty calls going against Wild, Racers tool full advantage and that period ended 2-0 To Racers. The second period was even better with both teams out to win, The Wild matched Racers all over the ice , but neither team managed to find the back of the net, so 2nd period finished 2-0 to Racers. Out for the 3rd and Wild put massive pressure on the racers and pulled it back to 2-2, again making full use of the ice and forcing play from end to end but the breaks they required to play 5 on 5 just didn’t come and Racers scored a further 2 goals in the final minutes of the game. A well fought game, but, as sometimes happens, just couldn’t get the breaks needed.
