Saturday 29th September
Our Learn to Play/U10’s team The Sabres travelled to the east coast and Fife Ice Arena to take part in their 2nd x-ice games this season against Kirkcaldy & Dundee.
The Sabres team had some very new skaters joining their ranks for the first time and they, without a doubt, showed up and played well. Our new net minder Kyle Wedegren had an outstanding performance in every game. With a team ofmixed experience, newbies and more experienced ones, it was great to see them working as a team, our experienced players helping out our new ones. All the making of a great team, all of the coaches are very impressed with the kids hard work and determination.
With no games this weekend and an availibility of ice with the U10’s being in Fife, the teams came together for an in-house game, where the teams were split equally into 2 teams. The players had a great session, learning, improving, getting faster while having fun. Well played everyone.
Wild are on a roll. This weeks game was the return leg against Kilmarnock Thunder in Wild’s home arena. Wild started slow with Thunder pushing them back. The first period was tight finishing 4 – 1 to the Wild. But after a stern talking to by Colin McHaffie, the game plan was changed and Wild came out hard to finish the 2nd period 5-2.
The 3rd period was a different game with Wild having most of the play, Thunder leaving a guy high to try and counter but this game had only one winner and the game ended up 9-4 to The Wild.
The WILD were wearing this seasons new Black Jerseys bearing our charity logo The ButterFly Trust, and out Jersey Sponsors, Burnhouse Engineering, Clark Guillone Financial Planners, Kerr Roofing & Building & Kerr Home Care.
