Scottish Ice Hockey have implemented various webinars and zoom sessions in a bit to keep all its players engaged in their sport until restrictions ease allowing them access to their rinks.
So whats happening I hear you say?
Friday Night Live & Zoom Fitness Sessions
Are just two of the regular sessions already up and running.
Friday Night Live – Every Friday at 8pm via Zoom. Each week the Scottish Ice Hockey National Coaching Team invite all players, coaches, managers & officials officials to the webinar where they have a range of guests in the coming weeks to talk about their roles and experiences in ice hockey and answer any questions from the audience.
Zoom Fitness Classes – Sunday for ages 14yrs + while Tuesdays are for all player up to and including the age of 13 yrs old. These classes are a great way to kickstart the off-ice programme arranged by SIH and there are already instructors lined up for weeks to come.
Goaltending webinars for goal tenders and their coaches. There are hosted by USA Hockey coach Colin Grubb who has vast experience of playing ice hockey then coaching in Scotland before heading to the States.
A coaches evening with Tony Hand. Tony is currently the Great Britain Head Development Coach & Director of Hockey at Murrayfield Racers.
Growth mindset expert Jamie McBrearty gave a talk to all players. With over 20 years experience in this field Jamie said that “Growth Mindset is the belief that your abilities and talent can improve”
