Saturday saw North Ayrshire Wild v Dundee Tigers Ice Hockey at Auchenharvie Ice Rink for their first home league game of the season.
Our Rookie Revolution & Sabres players took to the ice before the teams got started.
Many thanks to everyone for joining us to remember our former chairman Ronnie Miller.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get the win this time with game finishing 6 – 4 to the Tigers.
CONSISTENCY AND DISCIPLINE!
On a night when we honoured former chairman Ronnie Miller, we would have benefited from the team playing with a bit more of the passion he had for the club.
Dominant spells, throughout the game, but not on a sustained or consistent basis mean the Wild eventually went down 6-4 to the Dundee Tigers
Wild started well, with the excitement of Dylan Murray scoring his first goal, from his first shot on his first shift at SNL level, and then continuing their good play to take a 3-1 lead.
However, what then followed was a lesson in hockey being a 60 min game, with Tigers following up with 3 goals in just over 2 mins to take a 4-3 lead. This is definitely something we need to work on.
Lack of discipline saw the Wild run into penalty trouble which restricted their ability to get back into the game and allowed the Tigers to score a PP goal and take a 2 goal lead.
A final push saw a great short handed goal from team captain Gary Parker get us back within 1, but Tigers sealed the game with an empty net goal, with Scott Blackwell pulled for the extra attacker.
